Press Releases - Arthrex.com http://www.vegasbailbondcompanies.com/newsroom/arthrex-news/press-releases Press Releases en webmaster@arthrex.com Tue, 28 Jul 2020 08:04:25 GMT Tue, 28 Jul 2020 08:04:25 GMT Arthrex.com 60 Arthrex Invests in Employee Health, Safety with High-Tech Disinfectant Systems
NAPLES, FL – May 8, 2020 – Arthrex is further demonstrating its commitment to the health and safety of all employees with investments in high-tech workplace disinfectant technology. As COVID-19 progressed, Arthrex proactively installed state-of-the-art sanitization systems in its facilities around the world to help ensure all team members and visitors work in the healthiest possible environment. This has resulted in no reports by any U.S employees of contracting COVID-19 from other employees or visitors in the company’s facilities to-date.

Synexis™ Microbial Reduction Systems are cutting-edge disinfectant systems that kill airborne and surface bacteria and viruses. This has enabled Arthrex employees to continue supplying essential products to health care professionals around the world. Additionally, as many hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers resume elective surgeries. Arthrex is well-positioned with inventory to provide all products needed to satisfy the backlog of cases.

“Arthrex is dedicated to the health and well-being of all who enter our facilities. Our goal with these investments in disinfectant technology is to create work environments where our employees and visitors can feel safe and focus on delivering the most innovative products and medical education experiences,” said David Bumpous, Arthrex senior director of operations.

Synexis technology is proven to kill airborne and surface bacteria and viruses in buildings using a low level of dry gaseous hydrogen peroxide, a potent antimicrobial agent. The system continuously produces and distributes it throughout buildings to disinfect even hard-to-reach places. The continuous distribution of dry hydrogen peroxide drastically reduces levels of bacteria, fungi and viruses throughout the treated area. Hydrogen peroxide is naturally present in the body’s immune system, especially in the lungs, which means the Synexis system is safe for use in occupied spaces and does not require specific action from those working in treated areas.

The Synexis systems have proven so effective in sanitizing workplace spaces, Arthrex has expanded the investment to the Innovation Hotel. The 169-room facility, located on Arthrex’s Naples campus, opened earlier this year as an immersive educational experience for health care professionals participating in Arthrex’s comprehensive medical education programming. Innovation currently uses Synexis machines in common areas and the planned expansion would extend the system to guest rooms.

Arthrex has also incorporated an air filtration system into its new global headquarters building, Arthrex One, that uses ultraviolet (UV) light to kill unwanted microorganisms. In addition to the UV lights, a silver ion antimicrobial paint covers the interior surface of the air handling units. The combination of UV light and silver ion protects against mold, fungus and microbial growth within the building’s vents. Together the Synexis and UV light filtration systems work to make Arthrex facilities safe places to work and visit.

Please contact Lisa Gardiner, senior communications manager, at Lisa.Gardiner@arthrex.com with any additional questions.

About Arthrex
Arthrex Inc., headquartered in Naples, FL, is a global leader in orthopedic surgical device design, research, manufacturing and medical education. The Eclipse system is a novel, less invasive, bone-preserving total shoulder replacement that has been clinically proven in Europe and Canada with more than 20,000 successful implantations over the past 14 years.

The Eclipse system was the first total shoulder implant to replace traditional long stem fixation with short, fenestrated cage screw fixation for bone ingrowth, eliminating the need for bone cement. Its success as a total shoulder replacement has been demonstrated by outstanding long-term clinical results for the treatment of shoulder arthritis.

“The unique design of the Eclipse implant with compressive cage screw fixation and a critical cortex-engaging trunnion, thereby reducing stress shielding commonly seen in stemless arthroplasty, is bone preserving compared to all other available stemless and traditional stemmed implants,” said Arthrex Vice President of Strategic Development Larry Higgins, MD. “The Eclipse system allows for patient-specific replacement, independent of humeral anatomy with a wide array of implant sizes for all patients.”

With streamlined instrumentation and a simple surgical technique, the Eclipse Total Shoulder Replacement System decreases operating room time yielding a lower infection rate, reduces bone removal, and improves shoulder function, enabling an easier, less invasive, bone-preserving revision compared to traditional stemmed total shoulder arthroplasty.1,2,3

The Eclipse surgical technique is complemented by preoperative planning and patient-specific anatomic device placement using the Arthrex Virtual Implant Positioning (VIP) System, an innovative CT imaging-based program utilizing personalized patient surgical guides allowing for a more accurate and reproducible technique in the operating room, which may result in improved postoperative patient outcomes.4

Watch a patient experience video here or search Eclipse at Arthrex.com for additional information.

About Arthrex

Arthrex Inc., headquartered in Naples, FL, is a global leader in orthopedic surgical device design, research, manufacturing and medical education. Employees from all backgrounds answered 58 questions about how frequently they experience the behaviors that create a great workplace, considering everything from how comfortable they are being themselves, to the degree of favoritism or insider politics they observe in the workplace, the fairness of promotions, the feeling of honest connection with co-workers, their access to senior leadership, and who receives information and professional development and who doesn’t.

To determine the winners, Great Place to Work analyzed how positively women, minorities and LGBTQ employees reported experiencing their workplace overall, paying special attention to an index of factors where these employees tend to have a less positive experience than their colleagues. Rankings take into account how favorably women, minorities and LGBTQ employees experience their workplace relative to their male, Caucasian and heterosexual colleagues' experiences. The list also considered the degree of representation women and minorities enjoy within the workforce as a whole, as well as in management and executive roles. Organizations needed to have at least 50 employees to be considered and were compared to peers of similar size.

About Great Place to Work®

Great Place to Work® is the global authority on high-trust, high-performance workplace cultures. These suture anchors are used in arthroscopic shoulder surgery throughout the world.

The Court held that under the correct construction of the patent, no reasonable jury could possibly find that Arthrex infringed in this case. The Court also held no reasonable jury could have found that Arthrex committed indirect infringement of the patent, vindicating Arthrex in all respects.

Since the filing of this lawsuit in January 2004, Arthrex has consistently maintained that it did not infringe S&N’s patent. This was the third trial in this case, with the first trial being a mistrial, a verdict for plaintiff in the second trial being reversed by the Court of Appeal for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C. and now this third trial’s verdict overturned and Judgment granted for Arthrex. This ruling comes six months after Arthrex won an appeal against S&N which took away a $4.7 million dollar verdict awarded to S&N in the Eastern District of Texas.

John W. Schmieding, Arthrex’s General Counsel stated: “While we are very pleased with the Judge’s ruling, we are perplexed by S&N’s continued attempt to compete in the courtroom rather than the marketplace.
